I totally understand what you are going through/went through. I have no children but the it was so unbearable that I gave that up and went for the hysterectomy. I can tell you that the only relief I had was when I was on lupron. It puts you in a chemical menopause and has some nasty side effects but it was the only thing that stopped the pain. I also had the ablation and it gave me about a month or so of relief, which is why I ended up with the hysterectomy. The good news is that once you have your uterus removed, you are cured. The bad news is that you lose a part of your body. I wish you well and much strength through this.

I know exactly how you are feeling! I too was diagnosed with adenomyosis and each month it got worse and worse. The pain was so bad, the periods so heavy, the cramps that were chronic (never went away), the stabbing pains, and the pains down my legs. Oh and did I mention a period every 2 weeks!

After having 4 children and my OB doing everything under the sun for me I choose to have a hysterectomy at the young age of 29! The day before my surgery my period started full bore. Surgery day was 12/14/05. I was so happy to be done with it all!

I still haven't regretted my hysterectomy and my life today is so much better!!!! My OB appts. are now so routine and quick. No more pain or anything! It's the best thing!

If you are not ready for a hysterectomy I do hope you find something to help you through this portion of life called hell.

[...] The Vocabulary of My Life wrote an interesting post today on OuchHere’s a quick excerpt For the record: Adenomyosis sucks. It has been a handful of years since my diagnosis and thankfully they have been fairly easy years as far as the pain goes. But, it is getting worse … my diet and let it go at that. Regarding my other pain, my OB-GYN scheduled an laparotomy [...]
