Today’s Chocolate Fact

I am a big fan of the “365 Pages a Day” type calendar.  I have been known to have multiple calendars scattered around my workplace and home on any given year.  I limited myself to just one this year.  I know, amazing willpower skills.
Because my desk is fairly small, I opted for a mini-calendar this [...]

Happy Birthday Dale

Yesterday would have been the 57th birthday of Dale Earnhardt.  On August 21, 2001, he died in a crash during the Daytona 500.  Love him or hate him, he was a legend in the sport of NASCAR.
God bless Dale and his family.
Happy Birthday Mr. Intimidator.  We miss you.

Oh Happy Day!

So, this morning I actually fit my pudgy ass into a pair of size 10 pants.  Unbelievable!  I haven’t worn a size 10 in a very, very long time.
The really sad part is that this has happened in spite of the fact that I have not worked out in close to two months.  I haven’t [...]

Small Town Living . . Kind Of

We live in a fantastic suburb of Columbus called Worthington, and we love it here. Worthington is one of those towns that have worked hard to preserve the historic nature of its history. We have a Village Green and thanks to the building codes (which I’m sure developers HATE - but we residents LOVE) everything [...]

It’s In The Hole!

I have already spoken about how Alexa decided she wanted to try girls golf in High School next year.  Personally, I was very exicted about this.  I love golf, although I don’t play nearly as much as I’d like, and my father LIVED for golf, so this makes me happy.
I had been promising her that [...]

Somehow I Don’t Think Mickey Would Approve

A few days ago, while watching TV and enjoying a nice cold adult beverage, J wandered over and picked up the little metal bottle top that was sitting on the table next to me.  Any of you with kids may know that occasionally the Disney Channel will feature random kids and their collections between shows.  [...]

The Torch is Passed

(Note: This is “Holy Crap” Late in coming . . sometimes life just gets in the way, ‘ya know?)
Regional Weekend 2008 has come and gone and what a weekend it was! It was actually Prelims 2008 Weekend as well, so Lex and I got our serious Barbershop on!
We started the weekend with a [...]

Chosen

Several months ago, our clinic received some posters and post-cards that told of an event coming to Columbus in July of 2008.  The Lance Armstrong Foundation will hold The LIVESTRONG Summit at OSU this summer.  They accepted applications for Delagates and 1,000 people were chosen.
I was one of them.
I am honored and thrilled and overwhelmed [...]

Everyday Heroes

Among my litany of blogs that I try to read on a daily or at least weekly basis, are a handful of medical type blogs.  A couple of these are written by EMT’s, and let me tell you something about this breed of people.  They Rock.
Before I get into blathering about why I feel this [...]
